With an intention of national sustainable development, stakeholder meetings of local third party organizations, held on 28th August 2017 and 13th November 2017, provided outcomes to establish “Myanmar Environmental Assessment Association”, as Union level association. Its official registration was successfully accomplished at the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA) with registration and license no. 107418172 on 16th October 2018.
On July 20, 2025, the MEAA’s final Annual General Meeting was held. The assembly endorsed the organization’s restructuring and transition to a new name, the “Myanmar Environmental and Sustainable Development Initiative (MESDI).”
The MEAA’s fundamental principles and fundamental essence will remain unaltered, despite the name change. Additionally, strategically integrating comprehensive environmental and social initiatives into our expanded mandate will further enhance and broaden our operational capabilities.
